What is blown-in mulch installation?
Blown-in mulch installation is the process of spreading mulch via a bark blower. The bark blower is equipped with a pressurized system that blows the mulch out through large hoses. Each system is controlled by a remote that allows the user to increase or decrease the speed and amount of mulch that is spread during the installation. After the mulch is blown out, a backpack blower is used to clean up dust particles and/or pieces of mulch that are outside of the planting beds. What are the advantages of having mulch blown in?
When mulch is blown in, there are less wasted quantities of mulch. Blowing the mulch out allows the user to put down an even application throughout the site. Sometimes with bagged mulch installations, there are areas that have different depths and certain areas cannot be reached by hand. The mulch installation hoses attached to the bark blower can reach up to 300 feet and blow the mulch to the back of large bushes and shrubs that are not within an arms reach. The cost of having mulch delivered and having a crew or even hiring a crew to install bagged mulch can be time consuming and expensive. There is also a high cost associated with work-related injuries due to heavy lifting and back-breaking work.
